Mapping Out Your Future With Mike
Personal Experience Writing Articles With EzineArticles.com
The consensus seems to be that ‘EzineArticles.com’ is the preferred target for your articles. I believed the consensus and submitted an article:"Internet Marketing - Beginner Fundamentals I" on Day One.
I quickly, Day One, received an email thanking me for my article submission and confirming its receipt. It was suggested that it might be a week before someone got back to me with editorial guidance. It was also suggested that I strive to become a Platinum level member. The eligibility for consideration into this elite group is 10-25 approved article submissions. After the submissions your membership will be considered for upgrade. The major benefit seemed to be that your articles would be reviewed more quickly.
Day 3, I received an email which said that the article had been reviewed but did not meet editorial guidelines. I was asked to bring the article within editorial guidelines and was given the link: Editorial Guidelines. I was asked to respond within 48 hours so that my article could be approved.
I changed the title slightly because of a comment in the editorial guide. I received a duplicate of the first email with a different subject line on Day 3. Note that you should use the edit function and resubmit an article, do not start all over again.
Day 3, as I did not know what to correct I sent an email to support@ezinearticles.com asking for direction. I received acknowledgement of my request Day 3.
br> Day 5, I got an email which identified the problem. I had inadvertently double spaced the whole article. This is because I used the enter key to end a line instead of allowing the text to run to the automatic return. I went back in and fixed it by letting the lines run out to the end. Also I spent more time with previews to try and see how things would look.
Day 6 I resubmitted.
Day 8, I received an email telling me the rules concerning affiliate links. Because of the URL I was using for a squeeze page it looked like it was an affiliate link when in fact it was not. I took their comments to heart and changed the reference link in the resource box to my own home page http://themikeandersonsite.com . Again the editorial staff was helpful pointing out exactly what was necessary.
Day 10, I received the approval notification. Saints be praised. I was told that the article was added to the directory at http://EzineArticles.com/?id=493674 Do me a favor and go this URL and help out my popularity a bit.
I was also told that I had earned the status of Expert Author at http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=William_Anderson If you follow this link you get an index page all my approved articles. As you can see, the abstract is listed on this summary page for your articles. Accordingly, spend some time on the abstract it is important here and also as it is used by the search engines.
I was also told that my article would appear on the high traffic page http://EzineArticles.com.
Then I was informed that my article will go out on the RRS feed to topic alert members.
Next I was offered buttons to display on my website of my affiliation with EzineArticles.com. The code was at http://ezinearticles.com/featured.
This I consider pretty heady stuff.
I just went to http://ezinearticles.com. and signed in. The stats on my approved article today, Day 16, are 19 views and twice someone followed my link. The article has only been live for 8 days. Not earth shaking but interesting.
